Quotes & Estimates
Quotes and estimates can be provided prior to starting your particular project. We would be happy to meet with you to discuss the best papers, inks, colors and bindings for your project, items which all effect the cost of production.
Electronic Pre-press
We have state-of-the-art equipment capable of communicating with IBM, IBM compatibles and Macintosh computers. You can send your files without leaving your office, by utilizing the campus network (see Transferring Files.) Preferred software for electronic output are PageMaker or QuarkXpress. We can also scan your black and white or color photographs at the highest quality resolution (printing industry standards) and place them in your documents. Traditional composition services are also available. Call us at (989) 774-3216 before beginning your next project
Camera & Image Assembly
Our trained professionals in Offset Preparatory Operations will take your project through the various stages of camera and lithographic preparation.
Platemaking
Depending on the size of your project, the quantity to be printed, amount of ink coverage, paper stock, and the number and types of photographs used, your job will either be processed onto an anodized aluminum metal plate or direct image plate.
Offset Presses
From complicated 4-color to a short run single layout the Printing Services' Offset Press Professionals will produce your printing project with quality and speed on one of our six offset printing presses.
Bindery Operations
Various tasks are associated with the "finish" work of all printed projects, from folding to shrink wrapping and all bindery functions in between. Trained professionals will make sure your jobs look their best!
Mailing
Printing Services handles all the University's Standard mailings. Last year over 3 million pieces were processed by Printing Services.
